About

I learned to build companies by building them. Writing the software, finding the first customers, figuring out growth, and making a lot of mistakes along the way.

Over the years that meant software engineering, growth, data and machine learning: whatever it took to get a product in front of people and make it work for them. The technology I built ended up being used by millions of people, through companies like Suzuki, the United Nations, Randstad and Euroconsumers.

The road so far

  1. Student entrepreneur

I started building companies while I was still studying, and was named Student Entrepreneur of the Year.

  2. Taglayer

Taglayer learned what each visitor of a website cares about and showed them a message that fits. It reached millions of people. I later sold my stake.

  3. Verhaeghe Capital

With what I earned, I started investing in young founders and coaching them, so they can skip some of the mistakes I made.

  4. Today

I research what AI can really do in a company: which work it takes over, where it still needs people, and what it costs. I share what I learn with the founders and teams I work with.

Recognition

Student Entrepreneur of the Year, and a nomination for Forbes 30 Under 30.

What I believe

The best things get built by the people who don't quite fit in: the round pegs in square holes, with more talent than anyone has noticed yet. Put technology in their hands, and they move everyone forward.
